THE WAR IS ON YOU! American Troops Protecting Opium Fields

It is well-documented that the U.S. government has – at least at some times in some parts of the world – protected drug operations.

(Big American banks also launder money for drug cartels. See this, this, this and this. Indeed, drug dealers kept the banking system afloat during the depths of the 2008 financial crisis. And the U.S. drug money laundering is continuing to this day.)

The U.S. military has openly said that it is protecting Afghani poppy fields

How Eating Processed Food Made the World Sick and Fat

processed foods bakery How Eating Processed Food Made the World Sick and Fat

By Dr. Mercola

I have long stated that if you want to be optimally healthy, you should spend 90 percent of your food budget on whole foods, and only 10 percent on processed foods. Unfortunately most Americans currently do the opposite, and their health suffers as a result.

With most foods, the closer they are to nature, the better. It’s possible to have some processed foods that are still healthy; for instance, frozen green beans have been “processed” as has butter, grass-fed ground beef, or freshly prepared almond butter.

In most cases, however, the term “processed food” refers to those that are chemically processed and made from heavily refined ingredients and artificial additives. Such processed foods are the bane of Western civilizations’ diets.

9 Reasons Processed Foods May Make You Sick and Fat

It’s not a stretch to blame processed foods for the rising rates of chronic disease and weight gain around the developed world. Why? Let me count the ways…

1. Processed Foods Are High in Sugar and/or High Fructose Corn Syrup

This isn’t only a matter of “empty calories” causing you to gain weight without getting proper nutrition. Excess sugar consumption is linked to insulin resistance, high triglycerides, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.

Refined fructose, typically in some form of corn syrup, is now found in virtually every processed food you can think of, and fructose actually “programs” your body to consume more calories and store fat.

Fructose is primarily metabolized by your liver, because your liver is the only organ that has the transporter for it. Since all fructose gets shuttled to your liver, and, if you eat a typical Western-style diet, you consume high amounts of it, fructose ends up taxing and damaging your liver in the same way alcohol and other toxins do.

And just like alcohol, fructose is metabolized directly into fat – it gets stored in your fat cells, which can lead to mitochondrial malfunction, obesity, and obesity-related diseases, especially if you are insulin or leptin resistant.

The more fructose or HFCS a food contains, and the more total fructose you consume, the worse it is for your health. As a standard recommendation, I advise keeping your TOTAL fructose consumption below 25 grams per day.

For most people it would also be wise to limit your fructose from fruit to 15 grams or less, as you’re virtually guaranteed to consume “hidden” sources of fructose if you drink beverages other than water and eat processed food.

It’s important to realize that added sugar (typically in the form of high fructose corn syrup) is not confined to junky snack foods or sweets; it’s also common in savory processed foods.

For example, most of Prego’s spaghetti sauces have one common feature and that is sugar — it’s the second largest ingredient, right after tomatoes. A half-cup of Prego Traditional contains the equivalent of more than two teaspoons of sugar!

2. Processed Foods Are Designed to Make You Overeat

Your body is designed to naturally regulate how much you eat and the energy you burn. But food manufacturers have figured out how to over-ride these intrinsic regulators, designing processed foods that are engineered to by “hyper-rewarding.”

According to the “food reward hypothesis of obesity,” processed foods stimulate such a strong reward response in our brains that it becomes very easy to overeat. One of the guiding principles for the processed food industry is known as “sensory-specific satiety.”

Investigative reporter Michael Moss describes this as “the tendency for big, distinct flavors to overwhelm your brain.” The greatest successes, whether beverages or foods, owe their “craveability” to complex formulas that pique your taste buds just enough, without overwhelming them, thereby overriding your brain’s inclination to say “enough.”

“Vanishing calorie density” is another term used to describe foods that melt in your mouth, which has the effect of making your brain think it doesn’t contain any calories. End result — you keep eating. Cheetos is one such example. In all, potato chips are among the most addictive junk foods on the market, containing all three bliss-inducing ingredients: sugar (from the potato), salt, and fat.

Making Contacts at Networking Events

Browsing through my friend’s blog site yesterday, one of her articles really stood out. She discussed the methods she believes to be best practices while networking. I found it informative for my personal endeavors I couldn’t help but share.

Ever Wonder What the Best Way is to Make Solid Contacts at a Networking Party?! Me Either…

In your professional career, suddenly networking events are almost critical depending on how propelled you feel about upward movement in the success ladder.  I know I am not the only one that has experienced a networking event flop.  There is a very thin line between too informal and borderline formal.  And there is an unrealistic pressure to meet, greet and collect business card contacts to archive because if we haven’t created any sense of relationship, then these contacts are not really contacts…right?!

Right! So I have found recently that I seem to thrive better when I feel like I am in control of my situation.  Here’s an example:  I went to a holiday party for a company that I worked for awhile ago.  I probably worked for the company 5 weeks prior to the holiday party so I didn’t know many people personally.  I decided to dress in my most comfortable formal attire, and go to the party to meet my partners (co-workers), not meet strangers and hope we soon become acquainted to discuss business insights and so forth.  It worked!  I feel like I have been stressing corporate engagements, networking events, interviews, and all other formal meetings.  The tip is this:  It is very minimal and intentional.   It takes minimal effort to act as yourself and strike up interesting, sometimes personable conversations and the relationship building that happens as an extension of saying hello to someone, well that is very intentional.   We/you all want to make our/your planned interactions when meeting new people, intentional relationships.

Here are a few more tips that I have found useful:

1. Dress in your best formal/ business casual attire

Over the years I have been able to, most times, find that dressing in my Sunday’s finest where I look and feel super confident.  There is something about feeling very confident in your skin that allows you to focus and be more attentive and almost attention grabbing.  The distraction of constantly wanting to look in the mirror and check to make sure your bow tie is not crooked, or that your skirt is not too tight can be very worry-some, and worst of all, it shows in your complete demeanor.   How can you walk up to someone confidently announcing your presence and you are not 100% confident with your appearance?!  Even though those mixers say come in your business casual attire, take this as an opportunity to leave a quick lasting impression on someone by standing out and being that guy or girl that was dressed so immaculately.

Secret Sterilizing Agents in Vaccines

What do Polysorbate 80 and Octoxynol 10 have in common? They  both cause infertility and they are both in many vaccines.

According to the California Teratogen Information Service (CTIS) Pregnancy Health Information Line, there are many factors that can cause a man to be infertile and as around half of all infertility cases result from the man, it is important to properly study the causes.

Previous studies have found that radiation and electromagnetic radiation from cell phones and computers have been linked to infertility or sub-fertility as well as chemicals, including heavy metals and solvents, heat and pressure (such as hot baths and tight underwear), environmental pollution, cigarette smoking and sexually transmitted   diseases.

But in their summary of different causes of infertility, they forgot one: vaccines.

Fertility has been declining rapidly since the 1950s in all countries of the world and the start of the change coincided with the introduction of the first mass vaccination programs. For instance, in the UK in 1947, a mass DPT vaccine campaign was initiated and in 1958, the first polio and diphtheria vaccines were brought in on a mass scale for all people under 15 years old.

Spermicide in Vaccines

Vaccines contain many ingredients that are potentially damaging to fertility including detergents like triton X-100, also known as octoxynol 10 which is a known spermicide and has been used in experiments to “strip” sperm so that they are no longer capable of fertilizing an egg. In a 1977 study in the Journal of Reproduction and Fertility, triton X-100 was listed in a table of “most potent spermicides” that would produce 100% stripping of human sperm and the dosages needed for such an effect.

Octoxynol 10 (Triton X-100) is contained in vaccines. The data sheet for Fluarix vaccine says:

“FLUARIX (influenza virus vaccine) does not contain thimerosal. Each 0.5-mL dose also contains octoxynol-10 (TRITON® X-100) ≤ 0.085 mg, α-tocopheryl hydrogen succinate ≤ 0.1 mg, and polysorbate 80 (Tween 80) ≤ 0.415 mg.”

It is also in other flu vaccines such as pandemrix and vaxigrip vaccines.

Subway restaurants to stop using yoga mat chemical in bread

Subway restaurants to stop using yoga mat chemical in bread

Subway restaurants, known for their “eat fresh” slogan, are widely regarded as a healthy choice when it comes to eating out. However, what many consumers don’t know is that one ingredient used in their bread, azodicarbonamide, is used in the production of foam plastics, such as sneaker soles and yoga mats. Subway has used this chemical “as a bleaching agent and dough conditioner which allows them to produce bread faster and cheaper.”

Azodicarbonamide has been linked by the World Health Organization to respiratory issues, allergies and asthma; studies show that, when heated, it contributes to tumor and cancer development; when a truck carrying azodicarbonamide overturned in Chicago, it caused many people in the area to complain of burning eyes and skin irritation, and the chemical has been banned in Europe and Australia.

But now, after an article and petition by the Food Babe prompted angry customers to take to Subway’s Facebook page, the company has responded:

“[Y]ou’ll be happy to hear that we are already in the process of removing azodicarbonamide from our bread as a part of our bread improvement process. While the ingredient is approved by the USDA and FDA, it will be removed from all our breads soon.”

According to Time, “A Subway representative told the Associated Press that the process began before the petition, but did not say when it will be complete. ‘The complete conversion to have this product out of the bread will be done soon,’ Subway said in a statement.”

10 Unanswered Questions About the Attacks of 9/11

The events of September 11, 2001 will live on in the memories of all those who were alive to witness them. Despite the explanations from government officials and “official” investigations, many people remain skeptical and believe there is much more to the story than the official version purports. We’ll consider 10 unanswered questions that have convinced skeptics that there is more to the story of 9/11 than 19 terrorists hijacking airliners.

#1. Why did WTC Building #7 collapse in a way that looked as if it has been brought down by a controlled demolition?

Building #7 was not even struck by an aircraft on 9/11 yet it somehow caught fire and collapsed. Despite the fact that no skyscraper has ever collapsed due to fire before 9/11, Building #7 collapsed in on itself as if it had been swallowed by the earth some eight hours after the airliners struck WTC Towers #1 and #2. There were reports that fire officials evacuated the area around Building #7 an hour before it collapsed as if they somehow knew it was going to happen. What happened to Building #7 remains a mystery that has not been adequately explained by any official investigation.

#2. Why is there evidence strongly suggesting that Saudi Arabia had some involvement in the attacks of September 11?

Even though they are regarded as one the United States’ most devoted allies in the Middle East, evidence has come to light that the Saudi government played a role in the attacks by providing support to the purported hijackers. In response to calls from two congressmen for the Obama administration to declassify the full congressional report on the 9/11 attacks, the current administration has taken no action. The declassified version of the report that was released was heavily redacted by the Bush administration and included a total of 28 pages that were completely blank.

#3. Why were F-16 fighter jets scrambled from Langley Air Force Base directed to fly out over the ocean towards a military training area instead of being directed to fly towards Washington, D.C. to protect important assets?

In an unusual move by military commanders, three fighter jets were scrambled from Langley AFB in Virginia, about 130 miles south of Washington. What’s unusual was that the military unit’s SOF, or “Supervisor of Flight” was also ordered into the air with the two aircraft that would normally be launched under those circumstances. The SOF plays a critical role in any intercept mission by staying on the ground and coordinating the response to a perceived threat by communicating with the fighter aircraft and civilian air traffic controllers. The order for the SOF to fly the third aircraft was shocking to the pilots involved and was regarded as highly unusual. As a result of the confusion that followed, the three aircraft were directed to travel out over the ocean in an easterly direction taking them further away from the Washington, D.C. area when the Pentagon was attacked than they had been when they were first launched from Langley.

#4. Did privileged insiders profit from stock trades they made due to knowledge that the 9/11 attacks were imminent?

Financial records reveal that an extraordinarily large number of “put options” were placed against American Airlines and United Airlines stock just before the attacks of September 11. Put options are speculative instruments that reward investors when a particular investment – such as stocks – loses value. Traders who accumulated put options in unusually large numbers for the two airlines that were involved in the 9/11 attacks before the attacks took place were clearly expecting the value of those two stocks to drop, making their investment very profitable as well as very suspicious.

#5. Does the evidence suggest that an airliner actually struck the Pentagon?

Many experts agree that the damage inflicted on the Pentagon from an airliner slamming into the structure does not match the damage that was actually evident after the attack. Many also question why only a single video of the impact was ever released when many other cameras should have also captured the impact. As a highly-secure and vital government location, the entire area is covered by a large number of video surveillance cameras.

#6. How did passports and other identification documents belonging to the alleged hijackers survive intact after the airliners struck the twin towers and crashed in Pennsylvania?

It is well-known that the fire and subsequent collapse of both World Trade Center towers completely destroyed virtually everything that had been inside the structures at the time. An exhaustive search for human remains following the attacks turned up less than 300 intact bodies and thousands of pieces of bodies and bone fragments left behind after nearly 3,000 people perished inside the towers. Does it make sense that a passport belonging to one of the alleged hijackers was recovered from the ruins intact? In Shanksville, PA where United Airlines Flight 93 reportedly crashed, two of the hijacker’s passports were said to have been found in the wreckage despite the fact that only a large hole in the ground was visible after the crash and virtually the entire aircraft and its contents were obliterated by the impact.

#7. Why did Larry Silverstein purchase a lease on buildings that were considered a bad investment?

It was well-known that the World Trade Center buildings were not near the top of New York City’s list of most desirable real estate investments. The buildings were in need of expensive upgrades including asbestos remediation and other renovations. The estimated total cost to perform the upgrades was $200 million. When the buildings were destroyed on 9/11, Silverstein became eligible to collect some $7 billion dollars on the insurance policy he purchased on the property just six months before the attacks.

#8. Was it a coincidence that an extensive military exercise was being conducted on the morning of September 11, 2001?

Early confusion after the attacks on the morning of 9/11 was compounded by a large-scale military exercise that was taking place at the time. During the exercise, military controllers had simulation data routed to their radar scopes and other monitoring equipment to make the simulation more realistic. Audio recordings released reveal that the exercise contributed to the confusion in the immediate aftermath of the attacks and made military personal question whether the reports of the attacks were real or were simply part of the simulation.

#9. Why did Attorney General John Ashcroft abruptly decide to stop flying on commercial airlines?

As reported by the mainstream news during July of 2001, then-Attorney General John Ashcroft was advised by the FBI to stop flying on commercial airlines. The FBI would not elaborate on the reason for the warning except to say that it was the result of a “threat assessment.”

#10. Were bombs planted inside the World Trade Center buildings to bring them down in a controlled demolition?

Many people present at “Ground Zero” on the morning of the attacks report hearing a series of explosions coming from the buildings as they were collapsing. Reports of “bombs going off” even came from firefighters who should be familiar with the various sounds of explosions that might occur during a fire. Then there’s the remarkably “controlled” way that both of the towers collapsed almost perfectly, as if they were brought down by a well-executed demolition operation.

Much like the the JFK assassination, speculation and rumors are likely to persist well into the future regarding the events that took place on September 11, 2001. Whether the world will ever hear the complete and unadulterated truth remains to be seen.

$66 Billion in Profits on Student Loans

Student Loan Debt

Student debt has become a massive problem in the United States. With nearly 5,000 schools currently operating in our country, the sum of current student debt amounts to more than the sum of current credit debt. While our debt numbers increase exponentially, the rate at which current students are finding and landing jobs is decreasing at a dreadful rate. With the decrease in available jobs, actually being able to pay off your student debt. While our debt numbers increase exponentially, the rate at which current students are finding and landing jobs is decreasing at a dreadful rate. With the decrease in available jobs, actually being able to pay off your student debt has never been more difficult.

Most people don’t understand that college tuition is placing our economy in the red zone, and quickly becoming the number one source for debt in our nation. Everyone seems to be under the notion that it’s “worth it” to go into debt if you’re getting a college education. This isn’t always the case, though. The typical student loan allows the borrower to begin paying off the loan within six months after the graduation date. This gives the graduate a maximum time of six months to acquire a job, and start paying off their loans. The problem with this, however, is that a lot of students are unemployed for a year or longer before being able to acquire a job in their desired field, which makes paying off the loans a difficult task and thus drives graduates to low-skill, underpaid public service positions (fast food, car wash, etc.)

This project will review the main causes of student debt in our nation, and the dreadful statistics and information to back up our problems. It will then go into how necessary a majority of our debt really is, and basic steps to avoid it that many college students are now taking. I will evaluate whether or not the current level of debt in our nation is “worth it,” and discuss how the education system has changed. With the rate of debt increasing at such a large number, something has to be done to avoid ruining our economy, and placing an unnecessary weight on our educational system.

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Saturday she is shocked that the federal government is earning an estimated $66 billion in profits from student loans originated between 2007 and 2012.

The Democrat from Massachusetts was reacting to a Government Accountability Office report Friday. A previous Congressional Budget Office report estimated that the government will pocket an additional $185 billion in profits on new student loans made over the next 10 years.

‘‘This is obscene. The government should not be making $66 billion in profits off the backs of our students,’’ Warren said in a statement. ‘‘This report reinforces what we already knew — instead of investing in our children and their futures, the government is squeezing profits out of our young people and adding to the mountain of debt they will spend their lives struggling to repay.’’

Warren and eight other U.S. senators committed to wring government profits out of student loans and address a $1.2 trillion in outstanding student loan debt they say is crushing families and putting a strain on the economy.

Warren has been fired up about student loan debts, which she said is leaving new graduates with a suffocating obligation that can stifle their futures. She has filed what she calls a ‘‘skin-in-the-game bill’’ that tries to pressure colleges to keep costs down for students and ensure they get a meaningful diploma when they graduate. As part of the bill, colleges that don’t meet on-time graduation rates and other criteria must refund a portion of a student’s loan.

Now We Know They Can Remotely Control Cars, Lets Look At The Death Of Journalist Michael Hastings

Infowars.com and the alternative media have pointed out a number of suspicious anomalies that demonstrate the crash was part of a conspiracy to assassinate the award-winning journalist.

Prior to his murder, Hastings said the Obama administration had declared war on the press. His desire to go into hiding – expressed in an email mere hours before his assassination – demonstrates the ability of the government to monitor opponents by using a well-developed NSA surveillance grid and take executive action against investigative journalists and others who dare to stand up to the national security state.

U.S. Army brass told Hastings he would be hunted down and killed over his story that led to the downfall of General McChrystal’s, according to one of his closest friend during a June 26 interview on the Alex Jones Show.

“I remember when the story broke with General McChrystal and he [Hastings] gave me a call and he’s like ‘man, I’m pretty scared,’” SSG Joe Biggs said. “I told him, ‘You have a reason to be, brother. You basically just got a general of a war fired. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t sit too well with him right now.’”

Biggs, who met Hastings when the journalist was covering the war in Afghanistan, also said a story he was working on about the CIA was apparently what led to his assassination.
“Hastings had the Central Intelligence Agency in his sights is no surprise to those who knew his work,” Dennis Romero wrote last month, adding that “the shadowy world of intelligence and off-the-record American aggression was a favorite topic of the journalist.”

Biggs told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly in late June that “something didn’t feel right” after Hastings sent a panicked email saying the authorities were on his tail, adding that the story of him driving at high speed in the early hours of the morning was completely out of character.

“His friends and family that know him, everyone says he drives like a grandma, so that right there doesn’t seem like something he’d be doing, there’s no way that he’d be acting erratic like that and driving out of control,” said Biggs, adding that “things don’t add up, there’s a lot of questions that need to be answered.”

Recently, it was reported that Hastings’ body was cremated against his family’s wishes, destroying potential evidence that could have contradicted the explanation that he died as a result of an accident, according to San Diego 6 reporter Kimberly Dvorak.

“Despite the LAPD’s categorization of the Hastings fatal accident as a ‘no (evidence of) foul play,’ LAPD continues to ignore FOIA (CPRA in Calif.) requests made by San Diego 6 News for the police report, 9/11 call, autopsy, bomb squad and toxicology reports, or make the Mercedes available for inspection which only fuels conjecture,” writes Dvorak.
Dvorak’s investigation also uncovered the fact that police and firefighters in the area were given a gag order and told not to talk to the media about the death. This would also explain the attempt by the LAPD and Coroner to hide Hastings’ body from witnesses at the scene of the accident.

The corporate media has gone out of its way to dismiss evidence that Hastings was the victim of foul play and has characterized the evidence as little more than baseless conspiracy theories.

Soon after the accident, it was conclusively demonstrated that it is possible to hack into a car’s computer and take control of a vehicle. In 2011, Car and Driver magazine published an article substantiating Pentagon research into the subject.

“What has been revealed as a result of some research at universities is that it’s relatively easy to hack your way into the control system of a car, and to do such things as cause acceleration when the driver doesn’t want acceleration, to throw on the brakes when the driver doesn’t want the brakes on, to launch an air bag,” Former U.S. National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism Richard Clarke told The Huffington Post. “You can do some really highly destructive things now, through hacking a car, and it’s not that hard.”

A number of experts dispute the official explanation of the accident.
“No matter how you slice this particular pie, a Mercedes is not just going to explode into flames without a little assistance,” writes freelance journalist Jim Stone. “Car fires in new cars happen for three main reasons — running the engine out of oil, or running the engine out of coolant, or after an absolutely huge car mangling accident, having the hot side of the battery short out against the frame before it reaches the fuse panel. And for all 3 of those normal reasons, which account for virtually all car fires in modern cars, the fire would have started in the engine compartment, progressed slowly, and scorched the hell out of the paint before ever reaching the gas tank. That clean paint is the be all tell all, Michael Hastings was murdered, and the rest is detail.”
